Punjab Human Organ Transplantation Authority (PHOTA) arranged a Press Briefing on Annual Performance Report of Punjab HOTA on Wednesday 20th February 2019 in its head office. Imran Ahmed, Director Legal - Punjab HOTA hosted the event and presented the Annual Performance Report of PHOTA.
Mr. Muhammad Hanif Khan Pitafi, Advisor to CM on Health and Maulana Abdul Khubair Azaad, Chairman - Majlis-e-Ulema Pakistan / Khateeb - Badshahi Masjid, Lahore were chief guests in the ceremony. Prof. Faisal Masud, Director General - Punjab HOTA and Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Shahid, Deputy Secretary (Technical) Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Department were also present.
Prof. Faisal Masud, Director General - Punjab HOTA welcomed the guests and adressed to the participants of the ceremony. He guided them about Cadaveric Organ Transplantation and its need.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Hanif Khan Pitafi announced donating organs after his death for transplantation to the needy patients. He appealed public at large to come forward and donate organs to save the precious lives. He appreciated the performance of Punjab HOTA and the efforts of Adnan Ahmad Bhatti, Head of Vigilance Department, PHOTA, in curbing the menace of illegal transplantation.
Leading Religious Scholar, Maulana Abdul Khubair said that Organ Donation is not against the teachings of the Islam. He added that saving one human life is equal to save the entire humanity. He vowed to make appeal of donating organs in the part of sermons of Friday prayers.
